RCA NBC 77-DX RIBBON MICROPHONE

Circa 1949

Considered of the most iconic microphones, the RCA 77-DX was a staple in the broadcast and recording industry from the 1950s onward and could be found in nearly every major recording studio for many decades. The microphone was used on recordings by the Elvis Presley, Frank Sinatra, Johnny Cash, and many others for its unique switchable directionality and inviting tone. We acquired this piece from a private dealer in San Francisco.
